Making sure that one of the automotive industry’s greatest names shows just what it’s capable of, Newspress Creative teamed up with Lotus Cars to put some of the marque’s latest sports cars through their paces and pay tribute to its founder.
In 1948 Colin Chapman built his first competition car, following his own theories for improved performance. He formed Lotus in 1952 and from there the company continued to innovate in both road and race engineering. Changing the very nature and intent of car design forever, Chapman’s design principles remain as relevant today as they were 70 years ago.
Focusing on the performance and agility that every Lotus has engineered into its DNA, Newspress Creative set the company’s crack drivers a challenge – create a 70th tribute logo using the tyre marks left from drifting Lotus sports cars.
After some careful planning, the team at Lotus’ Hethel base took to the onsite test track, using the handling area beside the factory. A few hours, and a couple of sets of tyres later, the camera drone confirmed the drivers’ success – a unique tribute in rubber marking the firm’s anniversary is style.
From initial conception through to development and working with the onsite teams, Newspress Creative delivered the video efficiently and effectively.
